Recognizing the important international role of the Holy See, the World Organization for International Relations (www.woirnet.org) has decided to establish a Delegation to the Vatican. With this choice, the World Organization for International Relations (WOIR), founded in 1978 and registered with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (ESANGO), wanted to recognize the important role and the essential contribution of the Vatican in tackling the big problems of the planet and humanity, and has decided to extend its presence worldwide right starting from the Vatican.

“Faithful to its history and its principles, the WOIR is going to start a dialogue with the Holy See at the service of peace, justice, and solidarity,” said the General Secretary of the WOIR, emphasizing the huge potential of the Church in solving the problems that plague the world today.

A huge potential that fits well with the principles of the WOIR whose priorities are to develop friendly relations among nations based on respect for the principle of equal rights and self-determination of peoples, to promote the discussion and spreading of concrete ideas for the foreing operations of the Governments and for the greater entailment and understanding between Peoples, and to achieve international cooperation in solving international problems of an economic, social, cultural, or humanitarian character, promoting and encouraging respect for human rights and for fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race, sex, language, or religion.

“Today, the priorities of the WOIR increasingly include political and diplomatic issues. With the decision to establish a Delegation to the Holy See, we wanted to recognize the central role of the Vatican to cope with the many emergencies that the world faces today,” added the Secretary-General of the World Organization for International Relations, that for the best success of its statutory aims is now gradually strengthening the development of its political and diplomatic relations.

The establishment of new Delegations will allow the World Organization for International Relations to strengthening the cooperation, as stated in the Chart of the WOIR (www.woirnet.org), with States, Governments, Diplomatic Representations, Governmental Organizations and other similar organizations, governmental or non-governmental, especially with a view to encouraging the international cooperation and to promote effective measures to strengthen universal peace and international security.
